About Moralpanik

Moralpanik is an archive of moral panics through history, written with a light touch and a careful verdict.

How we work

• Sources. Every panic lists its sources at the bottom. We rely first on research, public authorities and encyclopaedias.
• No private individuals. We describe ideas, campaigns and public figures – never ordinary people who worried.
• Fair statuses. Sometimes the people raising the alarm were right. Those panics are listed under It was true.
• Corrections. Found a mistake? Tell us in the comments and we’ll fix it.
